FPL Gameweek 9 – head-to-head comparisons: Sergio Aguero vs Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Gameweek 8 saw a very rare occurrence where both Sergio Aguero (£12.2m) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0m) both failed to deliver any FPL returns for their owners. Aguero failed to register a goal or assist for the first time this season in a Premier League match for Man City, whilst Aubameyang followed suit for Arsenal. The two highest scoring FPL strikers will both be desperate to put that right in Gameweek 9, with both having away fixtures to get their teeth stuck into. Aguero travels to Crystal Palace in a Saturday 17:30 kickoff, whilst Aubameyang faces Sheffield Utd in the ‘Monday Night Football’ fixture.

Whilst most will be tempted to plump for Auba due to his cheaper price and later fixture, City have proven to be most dangerous when wounded, putting eight goals past Watford following their defeat to Norwich in Gameweek 5. It would take a brave FPL manager not to choose Aguero in this one.
