FPL Gameweek 9 – head-to-head comparisons: Mo Salah vs Sadio Mane

Once again, Sadio Mane (£11.7m) won the battle of the premium Liverpool midfielders in Gameweek 8, returning 12 FPL points compared to Mo Salah (£12.5m) and his measly 2-point return. Mane’s goal and assist against Leicester also sees him overtake Salah in the overall FPL points table. The shift in points between the two began in Gameweek 4. Since that gameweek, Mane has returned 40 FPL points, whilst Salah has only returned 25.

You do get the feeling that a Salah haul is on the horizon very soon and it could possibly come in Gameweek 9 against a struggling Man Utd. Salah’s fitness must be taken into account however, after the Egyptian limped off towards the end of the Leicester game following an awful tackle from Hamza Choudhury. For that reason alone, Mane has the edge in this head-to-head.
