FPL Gameweek 9 – head-to-head comparisons: Marcus Rashford vs Sadio Mane

Man Utd's Marcus Rashford (£9.6m) has struggled in front of goal this season in the Premier League, scoring just two goals so far this season and having not found the net since Gameweek 5 away at Newcastle. Rashford did gain an assist in Gameweek 8 in United's 1-3 victory over Everton, earning him five FPL points. Also gaining five FPL points was Sadio Mane (£12.0m) after he won a penalty that helped his Liverpool side to a 1-1 draw against Man City.

Both players face home ties in Gameweek 9, with Man Utd hosting West Brom and Liverpool welcoming Leicester to Anfield. Rashford is yet to score at Old Trafford in the league this season, but must surely fancy his chances against a struggling Baggies. Mane has a good record against Leicester having scored in his last two appearances against the Foxes at Anfield. However, Rashford at £2.4m cheaper represents outstanding value here and could prove an extremely shrewd option that allows us to pool our extra money elsewhere in our squad. Therefore, the Man Utd man narrowly edges it for us here.
