FPL Gameweek 9 – head-to-head comparisons: Lewis Dunk vs Fikayo Tomori

Brighton’s Lewis Dunk (£4.6m) caused a lot of pain to any FPL managers in Gameweek 8 who dared to leave him on their bench. Despite going up against a strong Spurs side, Dunk managed a clean sheet and assist to earn 10 FPL points from the game. Fikayo Tomori (£4.7m), the bargain route into Chelsea’s central defence, didn’t fare so well after Danny Ings wiped out any chance of a clean sheet, leaving Tomori with only 2 FPL points from the fixture despite Chelsea’s comfortable victory, but Tomori will still be a strong bet to bring home a second successive home clean sheet in Gameweek 9 as Chelsea host Newcastle at Stamford Bridge. Compare that fixture to Brighton’s, who travel to Aston Villa, and Tomori is clearly the favoured option between these two budget centre-backs.

Verdict: Fikayo Tomori
