FPL Gameweek 9 – head-to-head comparisons: Kevin De Bruyne vs Heung-Min Son

Despite registering an assist in Man City's 1-1 draw against Liverpool, Kevin De Bruyne (£11.5m) will have been disappointed not to do more after missing a penalty to put City ahead. A penalty which would have seen him earn at least ten FPL points had he converted it. Despite Spurs' 0-1 win over West Brom, Heung-Min Son (£9.6m) suffered a second successive gameweek without an attacking return, a rare failure in what has been an excellent season so far for the midfielder with eight goals and two assists.

Gameweek 9 sees De Bruyne and Man City face Son and Spurs. This is a fixture Son will have fond memories of, after scoring against City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season. When you also consider his vastly cheaper price-tag and the fact that De Bruyne may not take the next penalty for City after his miss against Liverpool, it makes Son our preferred option in this head-to-head.

Verdict: Heung-Min Son
