FPL Gameweek 9 – head-to-head comparisons: Heung-Min Son vs Hakim Ziyech

A second successive Premier League match in a row without an attacking return for Heung-Min Son (£9.6m) left a number of FPL managers frustratingly scratching their heads, especially when you consider that Spurs' opponents in Gameweek 8 were lowly West Brom. For Hakim Ziyech (£8.1m) however, a second successive start saw a second successive double figure points return as the Chelsea midfielder managed two assists in his side's 4-1 win over Sheffield Utd. Ziyech now has 25 FPL points banked over the last two gameweeks.

Gameweek 9 sees Son and Spurs host Man City, whilst Ziyech and Chelsea travel up to Newcastle. Whilst the fixtures on paper may favour Ziyech, Son has history against Man City, scoring in this exact fixture last season and will be confident of adding to his tally. Whilst Ziyech is cheaper and arguably represents the better value, Son's exceedingly high ownership makes it difficult not to look beyond him. Surely the South Korean won't draw a blank for a third successive gameweek?

Verdict: Heung-Min Son
