FPL Gameweek 9 – head-to-head comparisons: Diogo Jota vs Hakim Ziyech

After scoring the winning goal in Gameweek 7 for Liverpool against West Ham, midfielder Diogo Jota (£6.5m) was thrown in from the start in Gameweek 8. However, the former Wolves man had less luck against Man City as he failed to register an attacking return for the first time in three gameweeks. Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech (£8.1m) meanwhile, continues to impress since being fielded from the start by the Blues. Whilst injury saw his season begin later than he would have hoped, Ziyech is making up for lost time having racked up 25 FPL points over the past two gameweeks following his two assists in Gameweek 8.

Liverpool return to Anfield in Gameweek 9 where they face Leicester, whilst Chelsea are away to Newcastle. Whether Jota starts for the Reds is once again up for debate when you consider that they are in Champions League action four days later. Ziyech though will be certain to start and after his goal, assist and 14 FPL points in his only previous away league start so far, he gets the nod for us here when taking into account his current form and fixture.
