FPL Gameweek 8 – head-to-head comparisons: Riyad Mahrez vs Sadio Mane

Despite a plethora of Man City assets vying for attention in your FPL squads, Riyad Mahrez (£8.5m) has forced his way into our thinking following some stunning performances for the reigning Premier League champions recently. Although Pep Guardiola’s rotation is always a concern for FPL managers, then Mahrez has likely done enough for a starting berth against Wolves on Sunday.

Sadio Mane (£11.6m) has blanked in his last two gameweeks but he remains an attractive option for a Liverpool side who are yet to drop a point in the Premier League this season. The Senegalese star was somewhat wasteful in Gameweek 7, spurning a number of good opportunities against Sheffield Utd, so owners will be looking for him to be more clinical against Leicester this weekend.

Given his explosive form, Mahrez looks like an outstanding differential pick this weekend and has the edge in this particular head-to-head.
