FPL Gameweek 8 – head-to-head comparisons: Nelson Semedo vs Joao Cancelo

Two attacking full-backs come under the microscope here although both Nelson Semedo (£5.5m) and Joao Cancelo (£5.4m) deserve huge credit for their defensive displays as of late. Both defenders were part of teams who kept clean sheets in Gameweek 7, as Wolves beat Crystal Palace 2-0 and Man City were 0-1 winners over Sheffield Utd.

Wolves are away at Leicester in Gameweek 8, whilst Man City host Premier League champions Liverpool. Cancelo has started the last three league games for City, but you can never be certain about an outfield player's position in the starting lineup under Pep Guardiola. Semedo however, is certain to start against Leicester, a fixture that saw two 0-0 draws last season. Nuno Espirito Santo's side have kept three clean sheets in the five league games that Semedo has started in and their defensive solidarity pushes us to favour the Wolves full-back in this head-to-head.
