FPL Gameweek 8 – head-to-head comparisons: Mohamed Salah vs Raheem Sterling

A third Premier League penalty of the season for Mohamed Salah (£12.4m) saw him accrue eight FPL points as Liverpool secured a 2-1 win over West Ham in Gameweek 7. Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) had a far quieter gameweek, although despite not recording an attacking return the Man City midfielder was on the winning side as the Blues overcame Sheffield Utd 0-1 at Bramall Lane

Gameweek 8 will see these two lock horns as Liverpool travel to the Etihad Stadium and whilst Sterling netted in this fixture last season, he has historically struggled against the Reds. Salah meanwhile, has faired better, having scored four goals vs Man City in all competitions since moving to Liverpool. More importantly, Salah is on penalties and when you consider that Man City conceded three penalties in a single home Premier League game earlier this season, it leads us to edge towards the Egyptian here despite his heftier FPL price tag.
