FPL Gameweek 8 – head-to-head comparisons: Diogo Jota vs Wilfried Zaha

Off the bench and on the scoresheet again! Diogo Jota (£6.3m) netted his third league goal for Liverpool at the weekend after coming on as a substitute as Jurgen Klopp's side. It turned out to be the winner for the Reds as they overcame a well drilled West Ham side 2-1. He currently sits two goals behind Wilfried Zaha (£7.4m) in the Premier League goalscoring charts this season, despite the Ivorian star failing to make an impact for Crystal Palace in Gameweek 7 in their 2-0 defeat to Wolves.

It will be interesting to see whether Jota is given a start on Gameweek 8, which sees Liverpool travel to Man City in a heavyweight Premier League clash. Zaha meanwhile, is certain to start as Crystal Palace welcome Leeds to Selhurst Park. Zaha is the fourth highest scoring midfielder in FPL so far this season with five goals and one assist. Jota has proven himself as an FPL asset for Liverpool even off the bench, however with Zaha is such good form and playing predominantly as a striker it makes sense to play safe and pick him over Jota in Gameweek 8.

Verdict: Wilfried Zaha
