Two central defenders come under the spotlight here after both Thiago Silva (£5.5m) and Harry Maguire (£5.4m) shone for Chelsea and Man Utd respectively in Gameweek 6, as the two sides played out a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford. Both teams have found clean sheets hard to come by this season and the shutout will have given both defenders along with FPL managers who own either one of them cause for optimism going forward.
Gameweek 7 sees Chelsea travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley. Man Utd are once again at home as they take on Arsenal. It is a set of fixtures that favour Thiago Silva, with Burnley having scored just one goal in their last four league games. With both defenders providing an attacking threat from set pieces, the increased likelihood of Chelsea keeping a clean sheet when factoring in the opposition sees us go with the Brazilian over Maguire.
