The penalty spot proved a valuable ally for Bruno Fernandes (£10.5m) and his FPL ownership once again in Gameweek 4. The Portuguese midfielder opened the scoring in the first few minutes against Spurs with his second penalty of the season. Unfortunately for him, it was all downhill from there as Spurs proceeded to run rampant, whilst Fernandes was subbed off at half-time with Spurs ultimately winning 1-6 at Old Trafford! One of the players to run riot was Heung-Min Son (£9.0m) with the midfielder scoring twice, gaining an assist and racking up 18 FPL points in total. This will have infuriated over one million FPL managers that sold the South Korean international ahead of the match, under the impression that injury would see him not feature. Whoops!

Gameweek 5 sees Man Utd travel to Newcastle desperate for a reaction, whilst Spurs are at home to local rivals West Ham. Fernandes has accrued 18 FPL points in the last two gameweeks, but FPL managers surely cannot keep relying on the penalty spot every game for his goals. Son meanwhile, has an incredible 43 FPL points in his last three gameweeks, with one of those gameweeks seeing him only pick up a single point due to him being subbed off through injury at half time. He looks bang in-form and incredibly dangerous as part of a hugely intimidating Spurs attack. Considering his cheaper price, Son definitely looks a better pick than Fernandes in Gameweek 5.

Verdict: Heung-Min Son
