FPL Gameweek 4 – head-to-head comparisons: Aaron Wan-Bissaka vs Joel Matip

Man Utd’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£5.6m) and Liverpool’s Joe Matip (£5.4m) have managed to pick up a reasonable haul so far after three gameweeks, but FPL owners will have been expecting more clean sheets from both. Matip’s goal against Arsenal will help cement his place in Jurgen Klopp’s starting eleven, and at £5.4m, he represents great value in this Liverpool defence if they can get back to last season’s clean sheet form. Many owners have brought Wan-Bissaka into their side in the opening weeks but came crashing back down to earth after conceding two against Crystal Palace. A trip to Southampton offers them with a chance to get back on track, but both the Saints and Burnley (at home to Liverpool) will fancy their chances of scoring. Based on defensive play, likelihood of a clean sheet and the fact there is little risk of rotation, Wan-Bissaka just gets the nod here but we’re not loving either option.
