FPL Gameweek 3 – head-to-head comparisons: Virgil van Dijk vs Lucas Digne
Another healthy points haul came the way of Virgil van Dijk (£6.5m) in Gameweek 2. The Liverpool defender secured his second successive score of seven FPL points with a clean sheet and bonus point in the Reds' 0-2 win away at Chelsea. Despite a win for Everton, left-back Lucas Digne (£6.1m) did not register a goal or assist in their 5-2 triumph over West Brom and with those two goals conceded, Digne only secured one FPL point for his owners.
Gameweek 3 sees Liverpool host Arsenal, who have won their opening two Premier League games this season, as have Everton's upcoming opponents Crystal Palace. A trip to Selhurst Park looks a tough one on paper for Everton, but they defended resolutely away to Spurs in Gameweek 1 where they kept a clean sheet and a second successive away shutout could be on the cards here. When you consider that Digne is also £0.4m cheaper than van Dijk, we'd give him the nod as the value pick.
Verdict: Lucas Digne
