FPL Gameweek 3 – head-to-head comparisons: Jamie Vardy vs Gabriel Jesus
After a successful Gameweek 1 for last season's Premier League golden boot winner Jamie Vardy (£10.1m). The Leicester forward couldn't find the net in Gameweek 2, despite the Foxes putting four goals past Burnley in a 4-2 win. Vardy didn't even register an assist, frustrating his FPL owners. Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus (£9.5m) got off to a scoring start in Man City first game of the season although he left it late, netting in second half stoppage time as City secured a 1-3 win away at Wolves.
Gameweek 3 sees the two forwards lock horns as Man City face Leicester at the Etihad Stadium. Both players netted in this fixture last season and will be hoping that history repeats itself here. However, in terms of who to choose for your FPL side, we'd be inclined to favour Jesus. With Sergio Aguero out injured and Jesus priced at £0.6m cheaper than Vardy, he appears by far the more attractive option playing in a side like Man City, who are so strong in attack with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne pulling the strings from midfield.
