Both these new signings got off the mark in the Premier League in Gameweek 2. Donny van de Beek (£7.0m) scored a debut goal, although it turned out to be nothing more than a consolation in Man Utd's 1-3 loss at home to Crystal Palace. James Rodriguez (£7.6m) meanwhile, not only scored, but also made an assist in Everton's dominating 5-2 win over West Brom.

Man Utd travel to Brighton in Gameweek 3, whilst Everton are away to Crystal Palace. Whether van de Beek starts or not is up for debate as he was a substitute in Gameweek 2. For that reason, we'd have to lean towards Rodriguez here, even if he is £0.6m more expensive.
