Both Marcus Alonso (£6.0m) and Matt Doherty (£6.2m) made headlines in Gameweek 28 for their attacking returns rather than their defensive contributions. Alonso scored twice for Chelsea in their 2-2 draw away at Bournemouth, whilst Doherty provided both a goal and an assist for Wolves as they came from behind twice to beat Spurs 2-3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Alonso's Chelsea host Everton in Gameweek 29, whilst Wolves and Doherty take on Brighton at Molineux. The fixtures automatically point towards Doherty as the sensible choice here with Wolves having kept three clean sheets in their last four games, including shutouts in their last two fixtures at Molineux. Doherty not only provides an attacking threat, but a strong possibility of a clean sheet as well.
Verdict: Matt Doherty
