FPL Gameweek 28 – head-to-head comparisons: Patrick van Aanholt vs Matt Doherty

These two flying full-backs shone in Gameweek 27. Patrick van Aanholt (£5.5m) scored the only goal, a direct free-kick in Crystal Palace's 1-0 win over Newcastle, whilst Matt Doherty (£6.1m) registered an assist as Wolves comfortably dispatched Norwich 3-0 at Molineux. The two defenders accrued 15 and 10 FPL points respectively from the weekend.

Both are on the road in Gameweek 28, with Crystal Palace facing a big match against fierce rivals Brighton, whilst Wolves travel to North London where they face Spurs. Palace's Van Aanholt represents better monetary value, but local rivalries are always fiery affairs which could affect his points return. Spurs meanwhile are struggling in front of goal, with both Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son injured. Add that to Wolves having kept three clean sheets in their last three Premier League matches and we're tipping Doherty to outscore Van Aanholt in this one.
