Nick Pope (£4.8m) became the highest scoring FPL goalkeeper of the season so far, securing his 10th clean sheet of the campaign in Gameweek 27 after Burnley defeated Bournemouth 3-0 at Turf Moor. Pope has now accrued 116 FPL points over the course of the season. Another goalkeeper who kept a clean sheet in Gameweek 27 was Southampton's Alex McCarthy (£4.4m) as the Saints comfortably beat Aston Villa 2-0. McCarthy now has four clean sheets over the course of the season.

Both keepers travel away from home in Gameweek 28, with Pope's Burnley away to Newcastle and McCarthy's Southampton at West Ham. Whilst both sides have struggled in front of goal in recent weeks, Newcastle having failed to find the net in their last three Premier League matches against a defensively solid Burnley side, and that makes Pope the stand-out choice in this head-to-head.

Verdict: Nick Pope
