FPL Gameweek 26 – head-to-head comparisons: Japhet Tanganga vs Jamaal Lascelles

Japhet Tanganga (£4.0m) looks like a superb find for Spurs and the full-back is likely to be a mainstay in their side for the rest of the season providing he stays fit. He has pulled off some superb pieces of defending in his time in the side so far which has helped Spurs keep two clean sheets in his last two appearances. He is yet to score or assist but with more attacking talent brought into the club, he may be given more licence to get forward and link play.

Newcastle’s defenders have managed to score more frequently than their attackers this season and Jamaal Lascelles (£4.2m) has found the back of the net on one occasion. He has been involved in five of Newcastle’s seven clean sheets this season and was part of the back five that held Norwich in Gameweek 25. Newcastle face a tougher game this time around with a trip to Arsenal and with Spurs heading to Aston Villa, Tanganga has the better fixture and the greater potential for a solid score.
