Heung-Min Son (£9.9m) and Riyad Mahrez (£8.5m) will go head-to-head as Spurs host Man City at the weekend. Son ended his long wait for a goal in Gameweek 24 as he found the back of the net against Norwich having previously not scored or assisted since Gameweek 16. The South Korean has only found the back of the net on six occasions so far this season and is not capitalising on his chance to impress in Harry Kane’s absence. However, he looked much improved last week and that could be the turning point in his season.
After a brilliant display against Aston Villa in Gameweek 22, Mahrez was subsequently reverted to bench duty the following week before being reinstated in Gameweek 24, but he could not replicate his GW22 exploits against Sheffield United. Despite only logging 1190 minutes so far this season, Mahrez has produced some strong numbers with seven goals and nine assists but with his playing time in doubt once again this weekend, especially after playing 68 minutes in the League Cup on Wednesday evening, Son gets the nod.
