FPL Gameweek 23 – head-to-head comparisons – Sergio Aguero vs Gabriel Jesus

In the comparison between the same players in Gameweek 22, Sergio Aguero (£11.8m) got the nod over teammate Gabriel Jesus (£9.5m) and the Argentine striker did not disappoint. He hit a hat-trick against Aston Villa as Man City scored six goals. That was not the end for Aguero as he added an assist as well as the inevitable three bonus points to take his haul to 20 points, which is just the third time this season that he has achieved double figures.

On the back of his best score of the season, it would be a dagger to the heart if he did not retain his place in the side and under Pep Guardiola, that always remains a possibility. On this occasion however, it is difficult to envisage him being left out of the side and it is in fact Jesus who is under threat despite his goal and assist last week. Raheem Sterling looks set to return to the starting XI after he was left on the bench last week and with Jesus the most likely to make way, preference once again goes Aguero’s way.
