FPL Gameweek 23 – head-to-head comparisons: Miguel Almiron vs Ismaila Sarr

Like buses, you wait for ages for one before all of a sudden, two come along in no time. You can describe Miguel Almiron (£5.8m) as a bus, as for months he's waited to score his first Premier League goal and before you know it, he now has two within the space of a few weeks! His goal in Gameweek 22 away at Wolves was his first goal away from St. James' Park and could be a catalyst for the Paraguayan international.

Another midfielder starting to find some form is Watford winger Ismaila Sarr (£6.2m). Signed for big money in the summer, Sarr has looked rejuvenated under new manager Nigel Pearson and is reaping the benefits. An assist in the Hornets' 0-3 win away at Bournemouth was his second in successive games and follows up his goal back in Gameweek 20 against Aston Villa.

Both players face tricky home ties in Gameweek 23, with Almiron's Newcastle hosting Chelsea and Sarr's Watford up against Spurs. With Watford in better form than Newcastle, Sarr, despite being the more expensive player, looks a slightly better bet to provide attacking returns than Almiron, especially with Spurs looking so poor at the back in recent weeks.

Verdict: Ismaila Sarr
