FPL Gameweek 21 – head-to-head comparisons: Raul Jimenez vs Danny Ings

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo afforded star striker Raul Jimenez (£7.5m) a well deserved rest by giving him a place on the bench in Gameweek 20. However, the Mexican star did come on as a substitute in their 0-1 loss to Liverpool. This was the first game Jimenez had not recorded an attacking return since Gameweek 15.

Danny Ings (£6.6m) is arguably the most inform forward in the Premier League today. The Southampton star continued his one man mission to keep the Saints away from relegation by scoring his 12th league goal of the season at home to Crystal Palace in Gameweek 20. Ings now has an incredible eight goals in his last eight starts, which for a club who have spent most of the season in a relegation battle is seriously impressive.

Gameweek 21 sees Wolves on the road again, this time to bottom three side Watford. Southampton host Spurs and whilst Jimenez has nine attacking returns in his last nine games (five goals and four assists), Ings is going up against a very shaky looking Spurs defence who have conceded five goals in their last three games. That makes him the value choice here, mainly due to his cheaper price tag.

Verdict: Danny Ings
