Last season saw Man City's Kevin De Bruyne (£11.5m) finish with 251 FPL points, the most of all midfielders in the game. The Belgian managed 13 goals and a joint Premier League record of 23 assists over the course of the season. However, had Bruno Fernandes (£10.5m) been playing Premier League football for the whole season then he would have been right up there with him. The Portuguese midfielder joined Man Utd in January and bagged 117 FPL points with eight goals and eight assists.
Both these players are ideal FPL assets, with both on set pieces including those all-important penalties. Fernandes comes in at £1.0m cheaper than De Bruyne and he gets the nod from us in Gameweek 2 due to the difficulty of each players' respective fixture. De Bruyne faces a tough trip to Wolves with Man City, whilst Fernandes' United host Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
Verdict: Bruno Fernandes
