FPL Gameweek 2 – head-to-head comparisons: Danny Ings vs Callum Wilson
It was a disappointing start to the season for Danny Ings (£8.5m) and Southampton as they went down 1-0 away to Crystal Palace. The opposite can be said however of Newcastle and their new striker Callum Wilson (£6.5m). Wilson opened the scoring for the Magpies in their 0-2 win at West Ham and picked up 8 FPL points for his troubles.
Southampton will be hoping to bounce back in Gameweek 2 at home to Spurs, whom Ings has a great scoring record against. The Saints forward scored in both league fixtures against the North Londoners last season and with Spurs having looked poor in their opening day defeat against Everton, Ings will be expected to find the net. Wilson is in form and a much cheaper option, however with Newcastle at home to a Brighton side expected to play tight with the onus on not conceding, he may not be afforded the chances that Ings should get in his game.
