Man Utd forward Anthony Martial (£8.7m) has endured a very slow start to the season which saw the Frenchman struggle with injuries and lack of form in front of goal. However, Martial showed signs of recovery in Gameweek 17, scoring in Man Utd's 2-1 win over Aston Villa. Burnley's Chris Wood (£6.2m) hasn't fared much better although he has one more goal than Martial. Wood though has not managed to register an assist all season, whereas Martial has five in comparison.
The two frontmen face off against each other in Gameweek 18 as Man Utd travel to Turf Moor. Martial will likely be favoured by the majority considering that he is playing for the better team. However, his place could be under threat by Edinson Cavani with the Uruguayan returning from suspension. For that reason, along with Wood's significantly cheaper price tag, we're edging towards the Burnley forward, with the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford better value options in terms of Man Utd attacking assets in Gameweek 18.
Verdict: Chris Wood
