A Covid-19 outbreak at Fulham saw their game away at Spurs in Gameweek 16 postponed, which meant that Harry Kane (£11.0m) did not feature in the gameweek, no doubt frustrating many owners who likely captained the forward. Leicester forward Jamie Vardy (£10.2m) did feature in Gameweek 16, however it only came from the bench after the Foxes frontman was given a rest by manager Brendan Rodgers. The decision proved a mistake, with Leicester missing a penalty in the first half and having to salvage a 1-1 draw in the second half.
Gameweek 17 will hopefully prove a much more fruitful one for owners of these two strikers, with Spurs hosting Leeds and Leicester travelling to Newcastle. Both will be freshly rested and each will fancy their chances of getting on the scoresheet at least once. Leeds' naturally attacking style of play should open up space for Kane, however the Whites have kept clean sheets in their last two games. Newcastle are coming off the back of a 0-0 draw vs Liverpool which will have likely taken a lot out of their players physically. Vardy will prove a nightmare opponent for a fatigued Newcastle defence and whilst Kane has the higher ownership, Vardy with his £0.8m cheaper price tag may prove the value pick here for us.
