It was derby-day delight for Liverpool's Sadio Mane (£12.3m) in Gameweek 15. One goal and two superb assists for the Senegalese star helped ensure the Reds didn't suffer from the absence of Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino. The 15 FPL points Mane gained from the fixture puts him firmly ahead as the top-scoring midfielder this season with 109 FPL points, including 45 points from the last five gameweeks.
It was less delightful for Heung-Min Son (£9.8m), who failed to make an impact for Spurs in their 2-1 defeat away at Man Utd, their first loss under Jose Mourinho. This doesn't change the fact that Son has been in good form under Mourinho, scoring once and assisting three goals in Gameweeks 13 and 14 combined. He is also a far cheaper option than Mane.
Who to choose in this head-to-head really depends on where you are in your respective FPL mini leagues. Both players have positive fixtures in Gameweek 16 with Mane away at Bournemouth and Son at home to Burnley. If you need to make up ground then Son is the man to go for, but Mane really is a must own at the moment and it's at the stage where every week regardless of the opponent, he could rack up a huge FPL score.
