FPL Gameweek 16 – head-to-head comparisons: Gabriel Jesus vs Raul Jimenez

Gameweek 15 saw Gabriel Jesus (£9.6m) answer any critics who doubted his ability to fill the shoes of Sergio Aguero as Man City's main starting forward. Two goals against Burnley in a 1-4 win for City at Turf Moor was a clear sign that Jesus is ready to score the goals normally reserved for Aguero now he's set for an extended run of starts in the team. Jesus has so far started only six league games for Man City this season, but has still managed five goals in those six starts.

Raul Jimenez (£7.7m) failed to register an attacking return for the first time since Gameweek 10 despite Wolves' 2-0 win at home to West Ham. Before this latest blank, Jimenez had returned either a goal or an assist in Wolves' last four league matches. The Mexican has accumulated 32 FPL points in his last five gameweeks.

Gameweek 16 will see Gabriel Jesus lead the line for Man City in a crucial Manchester derby against Man Utd at the Etihad Stadium. Jimenez's Wolves face a long journey south to face Brighton as they aim to keep their unbeaten run of ten games going. As impressive as Jesus was against Burnley, Jimenez should not be valued at £1.9m cheaper. He has proven his consistency in the Premier League and at that price is a better value pick than Jesus.

Verdict: Raul Jimenez
