FPL Gameweek 14 – head-to-head comparisons: Sadio Mane vs Raheem Sterling

Liverpool midfielder Sadio Mane (£12.2m) got himself on the scoresheet for a third successive league game in their 1-2 win away at Crystal Palace in Gameweek 13. The Senegalese wide man continued to outscore teammate Mo Salah, with the Egyptian left on the bench due to injury. Mane now has 33 FPL points in his last four gameweeks, 16 more points than Salah. He's also the second highest FPL scorer in the game so far this season.

Raheem Sterling (£12.0m) on the other hand suffered further frustration in front of goal. A second league goal of the season was taken away by VAR (the first came back in Gameweek 1) and left him with his third successive FPL blank of the campaign. He has now not scored (legitimately) since Gameweek 10 against Aston Villa and owners are starting to lose patience with the Man City winger.

Gameweek 14 sees Mane back at Anfield to face Brighton, whilst Sterling travels to Newcastle. Both fixtures are enticing on paper, but when combining a home match with his recent scoring run, we have no choice but to favour Mane in this head-to-head.
