FPL Gameweek 12 – head-to-head comparisons: Raheem Sterling vs Mo Salah

It is very much boom or bust with Raheem Sterling (£12.1m) this season and any frustration over his point is largely based on the fact he is so often captained by so many FPL managers. Sterling has seven goals and one assist so far and he now faces his former team this weekend against whom he does not have a particularly good record. He did pick up his first goal against them in the Community Shield back in August, but that track record hardly gives confidence going into Gameweek 12.

Mo Salah (£12.3m) has a marginally better record in this fixture than Sterling having scored in both legs of their Champions League quarter-final clash back in 2017-18. In the Premier League, he has just one goal against them however and like Sterling, this has not been a fruitful fixture for Salah. He has five goals and three assists so far this season so there really is little to choose between the two players. The fact Salah will likely have penalty duties perhaps just gives the Egyptian the edge.

Verdict: Mo Salah
