FPL Gameweek 11 – head-to-head comparisons: Sergio Aguero vs Gabriel Jesus

It has been a tough few weeks for Sergio Aguero (£12.1m) owners, who have fallen foul of Pep Guardiola's persistent and unpredictable rotation. Despite there being a noticeable pattern of Aguero starting home games and Gabriel Jesus (£9.5m) lining up in away matches, Pep bucked that trend in Gameweek 10 by fielding Jesus against Aston Villa at the Etihad - cue thousands of angry Aguero owners, and particularly captainers who had to watch on in horror as Aguero made a late appearance for the dreaded one-pointer.

Talk of whether Jesus has actually usurped Aguero as Pep's favoured forward is perhaps premature, but this uncertainty comes at a particularly frustrating time with Man City facing Southampton at home in Gameweek 11. The Saints shipped an incredible nine goals to Leicester in Gameweek 9 - the joint-most ever conceded in a Premier League match - so it could be a field day for either Aguero or Jesus. We are giving the Argentine one more chance, though. He is capable of bigger hauls than his Brazilian teammate, and will have a point to prove if Pep starts him.

Verdict: Sergio Aguero
