FPL Gameweek 11 – head-to-head comparisons: Sadio Mane vs Raheem Sterling
It may surprise a few who haven't been keeping tabs on these two premium midfielders, but both Liverpool's Sadio Mane (£12.0m) and Man City's Raheem Sterling (£11.4m) are very much out of form right now from an attacking perspective in the Premier League. Neither have found the net since all the way back in Gameweek 5, with Mane providing three assists since then and Sterling failing to record a single attacking return, although the England international has not started in the last two gameweeks.
Both will be desperate to reverse the trend in Gameweek 11 with Liverpool at home to Wolves and Man City hosting Fulham. Mane has scored three times in his last two league games at home to Wolves which bodes well for his owners. Sterling faces a side who have shipped 19 goals in the league so far this season, although whilst he is cheaper than Mane a bigger question mark remains regarding his place in the side after featuring in midweek in City's UEFA Champions League trip to Porto. Pep Guardiola has proven himself willing to rotate and with Mane perhaps more likely to start than Sterling considering his record over Wolves, then it leaves us more inclined to edge with the Senegalese star over the Man City midfielder.
