Despite having the edge over Gabriel Jesus (£9.5m) in almost every statistical category, it is difficult to trust Harry Kane (£10.9m) at the moment. A second blank in as many matches, Spurs and Kane are a far cry from the sure thing they were at the same point last season.
On form, it is a clear choice between the two as Spurs struggle, while Jesus has scored every time he has started this season. The problem is knowing whether the Brazilian will start or not and something like a trend appears to be emerging over when he does start over Sergio Aguero (£12.2m). Essentially, Jesus would appear to be starting the away matches, while Aguero starts at home. Up next for Man City is a home match against Aston Villa so it is likely Jesus will see himself back on the bench.
This uncertainty over starts means Kane gets the nod, although if Jesus was guaranteed to play, the choice would be different.
