This is a battle between two forwards from newly promoted sides as Leeds' summer signing Rodrigo (£6.0m) and West Brom's tried and tested frontman Charlie Austin (£5.5m) get set to kick off their 2020-21 Premier League campaigns. Spanish international Rodrigo was signed by Leeds from Valencia for a club record transfer fee, despite only scoring four goals in La Liga last season. However, his contribution to the team cannot be underestimated, creating 12 key chances and registering seven assists. His output will be crucial in a side expected to be one of the fittest and most well drilled in the league under Marcelo Bielsa.

Austin meanwhile has proven himself in the Premier League. He lacks the glamour of Rodrigo, but give him chances at this level and more often than not he scores. Austin has scored 34 Premier League goals throughout his career and is expected to lead the line at West Brom in their Gameweek One fixture at home to Leicester. Added to the fact that he is on penalties and Leeds face the daunting task of facing defending league champions Liverpool at Anfield. At £5.5m, Austin would get the nod for us here.

Verdict: Charlie Austin
