The enforced break in play came at a poor time for Jamie Vardy (£9.7m) who ended his goal drought with two goals in a 31-minute spell having come from the bench in Leicester’s 4-0 success against Aston Villa in Gameweek 29. His last goal before that brace came in Gameweek 18 in what was a long wait for the striker but his tally now stands at 19 for the campaign and he will have big aspirations of winning the Golden Boot as he holds a two-goal advantage over Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ahead of the Premier League’s restart.

Raul Jimenez (£8.1m) sits on 13 goals so far this season and will be the key man for Wolves as they chase a European place. His goals have followed a similar pattern throughout the campaign and tend to come in clusters with him only once scoring a goal and not scoring in one of the games either side of that. Wolves have a nice run-in and head to West Ham in Gameweek 30+ and although Leicester face a similar level of opponent in Watford, Jimenez represents better value at £1.6m cheaper as well as looking like a better long-term hold owing to his side’s upcoming fixtures.

Verdict: Raul Jimenez
