There wasn’t much separating Paul Pogba (8.5m) and Gylfi Sigurdsson (£8m) statistically in FPL last season as both represent good options to score heavily from midfield. The duo profited from being their team’s primary penalty takers although both players missed three penalties apiece. Pogba took 10 penalties overall and seven of his 13 goals came from the spot. That is an exceptionally high number and the law of averages suggests he will not get as many spot kicks in 2019/20. Sigurdsson will be buoyed by the fact he finally has a dangerous forward in front of him in Moise Kean, and the Icelandic star may be a bargain compared to some of the more expensive midfielders in the game.
