Neither David de Gea nor Hugo Lloris will have been overly happy with their performances last season, and neither will their FPL owners. Both come into the new campaign valued at £5.5m and it is Lloris who beats De Gea is a variety of stats when comparing their performance in 2018/19. This season may be a little different however with De Gea’s future resolved and a new-look defence in front of him, while Tottenham’s full-back issues may unsettle their defence early in the season. Ultimately however, Spurs have the edge in quality and the gulf between the two defences was significant last year, so expect Lloris to shade this head-to-head once again.
