Former Crystal Palace teammates in 2018-19, Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£5.5m) and Patrick van Aanholt (£5.5m) have both been slapped with a £5.5m price tag for the new season. While Van Aanholt will continue to suit up for the London side, Wan-Bissaka is now plying his trade at Old Trafford. Both kept an exceptional 12 clean sheets last campaign, while it was Van Aanholt who offered the greater attacking threat and therefore averaged more points per apperances. However, given his transfer to the red side of Manchester Wan-Bissaka is sure to be encouraged to get forward early and often at Old Trafford. If Solskjaer can sort out United’s troubles at the back, the Englishman is likely to better the points total of his former teammate. That is a big if however, given Van Aanholt has performed at a similar level for the past four seasons. The question here seems to be whether to go with reliability or potential?
