FPL Gameweek 9 – head-to-head comparisons: Lewis Dunk vs Caglar Soyuncu

Two budget defender in Lewis Dunk (£4.6m) and Caglar Soyuncu (£4.7m) go head-to-head. Despite Leicester having a better defensive record, Brighton have actually registered one more clean sheet than Leicester so far this season. Dunk also carries a much greater goal threat than Soyuncu, with the centre-back having made two assists already this season. It is these attacking returns that have helped him on his way to seven bonus points and means the player offers a greater chance of returns regardless of the match-up.

Brighton have excellent looking fixtures over the next three gameweeks with two of their next three coming at home. The lone away match is against newly-promoted Aston Villa this weekend. Leicester meanwhile have a home match against Burnley in GW9, followed by two away matches.

Given the current defensive record of both clubs, each player's attacking potential, and their corresponding fixtures, Dunk is probably the better value pick over the next three gameweeks, though Soyuncu also offers excellent value moving forward.

Verdict: Lewis Dunk
