FPL Gameweek 20 – head-to-head comparisons: Nick Pope vs Jordan Pickford
Nick Pope (£5.4m) was his usual consummate professional at Anfield on Thursday night to earn himself 11 points with an assured performance in their shock 0-1 victory. Seven cleans sheets for the Clarets’ goalkeeper sees him near the 100 point mark now out on his own as the top-scoring Goalkeeper, with a game in-hand on most of his peers. Jordan Pickford (£4.8m) can boast just three clean sheets this season despite Everton’s recent improvements in defence.
This looks a no-brainer for any FPL manager looking to change their goalkeeper. If you can afford Pope, it would be wise to get him now as Burnley have once again found their form as the toughest team to get past in the Premier League. Pickford did not face Leicester when Everton grabbed a 0-2 victory away from home in GW13 and there is the small threat of Robin Olsen taking his place at any given time under Carlo Ancelotti. Set-and-forget Pope has the better chance at an eighth clean sheet when he faces Aston Villa in GW20.
Verdict: Nick Pope
