Patrick Bamford (£6.6m) is owned by almost half of FPL managers at the time of writing after scoring 10 goals and making five assists this season. He drew a blank with the rest of his Leeds side after they were out-fought by Spurs and was rested in their sorry defeat by Crawley in the FA Cup Third Round last weekend. Michail Antonio (£6.2m) has recovered from injury to come on as a sub in West Ham’s last two fixtures and with the departure of Sebastian Haller to Ajax has very few rivals for his place in the starting 11.

This is a difficult pick despite West Ham and Antonio having an additional fixture in DGW19 and that is testament to the effectiveness of Bamford this season. A home match against Brighton should see goals for both sides and a well-rested Bamford is likely to grab an attacking return of some shape here. He is the safer option, given Antonio has not scored since Gameweek 6, but two fixtures for the Hammers forward at home to Burnley and West Brom is very enticing. If you have neither, perhaps Antonio is a good differential option here but they could score similar points this week and Bamford looks un-droppable.

Verdict: Patrick Bamford
