FPL Gameweek 19 – head-to-head comparisons: Harry Kane vs Jamie Vardy
Harry Kane (£11.1m) netted his second goal in two games when Spurs drew 1-1 with Fulham on Wednesday night. After drawing three blanks in a row over Christmas, Kane now has 20 points from his last two games and a match away to Sheffield Utd, despite their recent success at Newcastle, looks like the kind of fixture that requires his influence. Jamie Vardy (£10.1m) has not scored for three matches now but a short break during Gameweek 18 could see him fit and firing in time for a busy DGW19.
Leicester have back-to-back home games against Southampton and Chelsea in DGW19, with in-form Southampton looking the tougher of the two as things stand. There is no doubt that the Saints will be eager for this fixture like nothing else this season after their infamous 0-9 drubbing by the Foxes last season but Vardy can exploit their fast-paced pressing game and, more importantly, could have a field day against Frank Lampard’s stuttering Blues. Both players are good options but Spurs’ last performance against Fulham left much to be desired and Vardy has two chances here to outscore his old England team-mate.
Verdict: Jamie Vardy
