FPL Gameweek 19 – head-to-head comparisons: Callum Wilson vs Ollie Watkins
The form of Callum Wilson (£6.6m) was keeping Newcastle afloat before Christmas but he has drawn three blanks on the spin now and his team look listless. Ollie Watkins (£6.1m) has not scored a goal since Gameweek 10 but is more of a sporadic double-hauler than a consistent threat. Watkins will be the more rested of the two coming into DGW19 with Aston Villa’s proposed fixture with Spurs called off due to covid-19 cases at Villa.
Newcastle will face the prospect of two away games as they first visit in-form Arsenal, just one week after their FA Cup defeat to the Gunners, and then Watkins’ Aston Villa, whilst Watkins will face Man City before meeting Newcastle at home. On the face of it, Aston Villa may well enjoy their DGW19 more than Newcastle but that does not mean Callum Wilson will not have a say in the proceedings. Between two players in need of a goal, two games for the price of one should favour the penalty taker Wilson in this H2H.
