FPL Gameweek 12 – head-to-head comparisons: Patrick Bamford vs Ollie Watkins
Patrick Bamford (£6.1m) continues to prove doubters wrong, including perhaps his old academy, as he scored his eighth goal of the season away at Stamford Bridge where he started his career. The Leeds target man is almost owned by almost 4%0 of FPL managers, making him a dangerous asset not to own when he’s in the mood. The same could be said of Ollie Watkins (£6.1m) with two less goals and one less assist than Bamford but, crucially, two games fewer played after Aston Villa had a second match postponed this season.
Watkins will enjoy his first taste of a Wets Midlands rivalry when he travels to play Wolves and Dean Smith’s Villa side will be chomping at the bit to get at at team that just conceded four goals to Liverpool last weekend. Bamford should also be eager to face a West Ham side at Elland Road with David Moyes’ side a little less solid than they looked in November. This is a tricky one between two excellent budget option but Bamford has scored the more recently and home advantage in front of returning Leeds fans should spur them on to entertain here.
