FPL Gameweek 12 – head-to-head comparisons: Kyle Walker-Peters vs Tariq Lamptey
Kyle Walker-Peters (£4.6m) bagged a second assist of the season in Southampton’s win away to Brighton on Monday and his four clean sheets this season put him in a competitive argument with many of the top defence options in the game. Indeed, his team’s defensive strengths put him ahead of Tariq Lamptey (£4.8m) in points, although the Brighton youngster is a more “explosive” option with 1 goal and three assists in an impressive full debut season.
Southampton’s fixture at home to struggling Sheffield United suggests a fifth clean sheet could be in the offing against the league’s joint-lowest scorers whilst Brighton’s trip to Leicester is likely to see some nets bulging. Offensively, Lamptey ticks a lot of boxes but Brighton’s gung-ho approach this season puts their defenders in the “risky-move” category.
Verdict: Kyle Walker-Peters
