Jamie Vardy (£10.3m) snatched the late deciding goal against Sheffield United to see Leicester just edge past the dogged Blades last weekend. It was his second-successive attacking return after an assist the previous week against Fulham and last season’s top-scorer is only two behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin with nine goals for the Foxes so far. Both he and Danny Ings (£8.3m) were in the conversation throughout last year and have come through small injuries already this season to prove themselves as dependable assets up front. Ings scored on his return from the bench against Brighton last weekend and is currently a bit of a steal at his reduced price and ownership of around 6%.
The Saints will host struggling Sheffield United next, although Chris Wilder’s side are starting to show signs of returning to their rugged roots, and Ings should be fancied to get on the scoresheet as he did in this fixture back in July. However, Vardy has scored in four of his last five games against Brighton & Hove Albion and the Seagulls’ defence is not exactly sturdy right now.
