Che Adams (£5.9m) has been quietly going under the radar as an important part of Southampton’s excellent recent form having supplied his small band of FPL owners with at least one attacking return in each of his last five games. An assist against Wolves last time out sees him at four for the season so far complimented by three goals for the Saints and they have been converted into a decent bonus point haul over the last few matches. Adams is 0.6m cheaper than Callum Wilson (£6.5m) who did not play due to a hamstring tweak in Gameweek 9, but with both players very reasonably priced it seems a question of the big hauls of Wilson versus the chipping away of Adams.

As Newcastle’s main striker and penalty-taker, £6.5m seems a steal for a fit and firing Wilson as the fifth-highest scoring Forward in the game. However, with his fitness currently in some question and a sturdy Crystal Palace visiting there is more chance for Southampton goals when they host Manchester United. Matches between United and the Saints have been exciting in recent fixtures and Adams should link up well with Theo Walcott (£5.8m) against the Red Devils’ questionable defence.

Verdict: Che Adams
